RPS Girls Soccer Raises the Bar Again with Fourth-Straight State Title

When Rutgers Prep girls soccer was chosen as the top-ranked team in the country by United Soccer Coaches before the season, the bar was set incredibly high.

How would the team measure up to that No. 1 ranking and the expectations that come with it?

The answer was loud and clear as the Argonauts had their second straight perfect season, capped off by county, Prep B, sectional, and state championships.

Rutgers Prep finished the year 21-0 and closed the postseason with its fourth consecutive NJSIAA state title after a 2-0 victory over DePaul. Along the way, the team added a sixth straight sectional championship and once again claimed the South Non-Public B title.

The unbeaten season was the latest chapter in an amazing run that has seen the team win 48 straight games, with its last defeat coming in 2023. Congratulations to the players and to coach Jim Buchanan for setting the standard for girls soccer in New Jersey and across the country.
