Band Concert Kicks Off Spring Concert Series

Rutgers Prep students provided an epic soundtrack for the Spring Band Concert on Monday, April 20.

The evening featured Middle School and Upper School ensembles, including the Concert Bands, Jazz Bands, Fusion Ensemble, Saxophone Ensemble, and Wind Ensemble.

Built around themes of heroes, hope, love, and triumph over adversity, the program gave students a chance to perform music in a wide range of styles. The selections included jazz and concert band standards, pop music, and music from superhero movies and anime series, with pieces such as “The Avengers,” “Virtual Insanity,” and the “Pokémon Theme.”

The concert also recognized seniors and included the presentation of several awards, honoring students for their musical achievement, leadership, and contributions to the band program.
