Girls Tennis Wins First Sectional Title in Program History

The Rutgers Prep girls tennis team made history this season, capturing the program's first-ever sectional championship with a 4–1 victory over Red Bank Catholic on October 14.

After wins from Lyra Patel ’26, Raghavi Aiyer ’27, Sanvi Narmeta ’29, and Lielle Parker ’26, the title was clinched in dramatic fashion, with the second doubles team of Zahra Shirley ’28 and Ashwika Tipparaju ’27 coming from behind to get the win. Their comeback capped off a memorable run for the Argonauts. 

RPS finished the season with a 13–4 overall record and a perfect 9–0 mark in Skyland–Raritan play. The team closed the year strong, winning seven straight matches and eight of its last nine on the way to the sectional crown. The only setback during that stretch came in the hard-fought final of the state tournament.
